Is it just me or is there a shortage of discounted Specialized Allez bikes on the market?
I remember only 12 months ago you could pick up a brand new discounted Specialized Allez 16 base model for just about £400 which was a massive saving on new. Shops had a stock of previous years bikes and were offering great deals to get them from their stock rooms. Looking on the internet during 2011 many cycle shops had some great deals on bikes and it was a great time to invest in a road or mountain bike.
As you know from a previous post the Specialized Allez 2012 review this racing bike is a quality product and the base models offer an excellent introduction to road cycling. It is a great machine and I personally think the Allez is one of the best road bikes around.
So what about the discounted Specialized Allez that littered our cycling shops back in 2011, where are they in 2012! What has happened?
There is only one reason behind the lack of sale stock, Bradley Wiggins!
Due to the success of Wiggins in the Tour De France in 2012 the popularity of road cycling has gone through the roof. Road bikes have been flying off the shelves in all local bike shops. Cyclists have been cropping up all over the country trying to emulate the success of Team Sky. What would have been a usual year when retailers offer Discounted Specialized Allez and other road bikes has turned in to a vintage year for all bike shops.
I am not complaining, as my blog title says, Enjoy Cycling and anything that encourages people to take up the sport is good and if it means there are less bargains out there then so be it!
Overall it has been a bad year for Discounted Specialized Allez and other road bikes but has been a bumper year for cycling!
Although don’t think that there are no bargains out there!
Enjoy Cycling will bring you any bargain deals on Specialized Allez and any other bike it hears of as and when we get them.
Do you know of any good deals on 2012 bikes?
